From thrilling comebacks on the ice to dominant displays on the basketball court and football field, the Big Green left fans with plenty to cheer about as the fall season winds down and winter sports heat up.
The Dartmouth men's hockey team delivered a series of captivating games, most notably a decisive 5-2 victory over the Princeton Tigers at Thompson Arena. The Big Green offense roared to life, with sophomore forward Braiden Dorfman netting two goals and contributing an assist. Goaltender Cooper Black stood tall between the pipes, turning away 31 of 33 shots to secure the win. Earlier in the week, the team faced a tough challenge against the nationally ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats, ultimately falling 4-1 despite a valiant effort. The team looks to build on this momentum as they head into a challenging December schedule.
Meanwhile, the Dartmouth women's hockey team also had a busy week, splitting their weekend series against Yale and Brown. On Friday night, the Big Green fell to the Yale Bulldogs 3-1, with forward Laura Audino scoring the lone goal for Dartmouth. However, the team rebounded spectacularly on Saturday, defeating the Brown Bears in a dominant 4-0 shutout victory. Goalie Maggie Emerson recorded her first collegiate shutout, while four different players found the back of the net, showcasing the team’s depth and resilience.
On the hardwood, the Dartmouth men's basketball team showcased their offensive firepower, securing a resounding 85-68 victory against the Merrimack Warriors.
